| Beautiful art, easy to interpret but meaningful story, likable characters, and a certain magic and love to it, yup this is a Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli film. The soundtrack tot he movie is also fantastic. The only problems are that the Miyazaki DVDs have been pretty lackluster in extra features, and the Disney version of the DVD has new, irritating, voices that are in no way as good as the original. Go check out the other version offered here on Amazon: My Neighbor Totoro (Full Screen Edition) by 20th Century Fox rather than Disney, it has the original voices. Fantastic movie that people of all ages should love, remember, and cherish. |

| Honestly, what the H*** is taking so long?! This thing shipped on the 8th of Feb, its now the 29th and I still haven't got it. It was shipped via domestic standard shipping. The email I got said 4-21 business days shipping?! What are you shipping it via camel? Ridiculous! Still haven't gotten the d*** thing. Never buy from 'Got Books Inc'. Really lousy. I can't even track my shipments. THIS REVIEW DOES NOT MEAN THE PRODUCT IS BAD, ONLY THE SHIPPING WAS A NIGHTMARE! Sorry to lower the rating on this product people, but if this is what I have to go through to get the thing then I can't help myself. By the way, this was supposed to be a Valentines Day present for my Girlfriend. I didn't need it on Valentines Day, so I wasn't to concerned when it hadn't showed up for our celebration, but now its almost March, and I still haven't gotten it. | I have been a fan of Sailor Moon since the original first season of TV show in which they fought against there original first enemy queen Barrel and here minions from the Nega Verse was first broadcast on the air. Which I believe came out sometime in between 1993 and 1998 when I was in between the age of 8 and 12. A word of warning before you rent or buy this movie for your children you should probably wait a while years of age or because this is uncut version of the movie. The reasons why this movie might not be appropriate for kids under age of 12 is because of occasional brief nudity, in addition to this there is somewhat heavy cartoon violence, thematic elements in this movie as well and occasional mildly scary images in it as well. As a result of the things listed in bold this movie might not appropriate or may be questionable depending on yur parents opinion. In the movie when the children of Earth are kidnapped by dream fairies including sailor moons own daughter Reyna. I believe this movie takes place after the Pegasus TV series because Pegasus is never mention in the movie in addition sailor moon and her daughter are already now you words to say to transform using the powers they were suppose to get from Pegasus Sailor moon and the sailor scoots with aid of Peru a fair who rebels against his mistress method are to extreme. Once again sailor moon and sailor Scotts must use there powers to save the planet. Can Sailor moon and the Sailor scoots defeat the dreaded Badiyanu? The gigantic female, dream fairy, that stands over 13 feet tall and weighs over 5 tons of pure female muscle. Or will the whole earth be swallowed up into her dream hole incasing ever one in an internal sleep from which they will never awake. So we listened and to show America's graditude 'Spirited Away' won the second Oscar for Best Animated Feature.This is a story of Chihiro. A spoiled brat who never has to do anything. Though she gets anything she wants whenever she wants she still feels alone and ignored by the world. On the move to their new house Chihiro's family spots an abandoned amusement park. What they don't know is that it is a resort to the spirits that walk the Earth at night. Now her paretns broke the rules and turned into pigs so it's up to Chihiro to break the curse. On her dangerous yet sometimes humerous quest she learns what it is like to prove to yourself in the world and you can do great things. This is a very different film for Hayao Miyzaki. This is a story that plays upon some of the most bizzare fantasy stories. It is also a movie that can be a bit weird and sometimes disturbing. Yet what you see will blow your mind for it is so origional and so mind bending you will be craving to see what happens next. At this point Studio Ghibli is a world renound phenomenon and Disney is giving it a helping hand to get all the films to the world. 'Spirited Away' is a real milestone for Ghibli because once this movie received it's Oscar it was embraced by a whole new wave of fans. After that they craved more and thus the films like 'Castle in the Sky', 'Whisper of the Heart' and 'Pom Poko' were finally brought over seas and now one can only think about the next wave of films that is on its way to us. | This is the only sonic movie ever to be made since it first came out in late eigities. This is and old dvd is somewhat difficult to find in local stores try to see if you can find it used a CD ware house or something like that. I got it there along with the second Lethal weapon for under $20 with the tax included. They do have this for sale used on amazom but the copies are severly limited only have about 7 used copies currently avilable for sale. In addition the copies they do have are drastically over priced and cost about 6 to 12 times more than what what they should cost. The copies are in really good condition. The copies on averag the price of seven copies vary but the average price is some where from $70 to $140 dollas for one copy. This movie features sonic, tails, knuckles eggman still call robontnick until they changed it back to egg man during the second cartoon series called sonic X and sonic arch enemy medal sonic. For those of you like the main hot female chracters from sonic X and the newer games such as amy and Rogue I'm sorry to inform you that there not in this short 53 minute movie. Can sonic death his evil menachical duplicate the evil hyper metal sonic with aid of his companions tail the fox and knuckles the echina is planet freedom doom to fall to mercy of vile doctor robotnic find out in the thrilling conclusion. If you think this is two expensive you can get the season five and six sets of sonic for under $50 dollars if you get them in decent condition. |

Princess Mononoke (Dub)

| I was a little unsure of what to expect from the title of this movie, but it certainly wasn't about a princess. The plot of this film was very good. I have yet to watch it with subtitles and I expect that it will be much better with them. Billy Bob Thornton is terrible, plain and simple. Minnie Driver seems out of place in her role as well. Let's face it, the English voiceovers completely lack conviction. At least some of the other anime films with English dubs that I have seen sound like they actually give a crap about what they are doing. The main character, however was excellently voiced IMO.As far as the plot goes, it is excellent. You may want to read up on some Japanese tradition/legends before watching as most westerners brush off a plot about nature as hippie rubbish. This film has a good message and should be embraced, with or without the crappy dubs. The animation is top notch for the time period that it was released. The opening scenes are some of my favorite and I am sure you'll see why.All in all, the film is like a violent disney movie with an actual message that should be received by most kids 12 and older (unless you cottle your kids and could nag the paint off of the walls, in which case go and sit your kids down in front of Handy Manny or something while you wait for Sex and the City to come out on DVD (if you found that offensive, you know in your heart that it is true, so stop lying to yourself already!)). I would not recommend this film to children that are any younger than this age due to the eerie violence that ensues at some unexpected parts. Oh come on, just pay the 15 bucks and see it. You probably won't regret it. I didn't. |
